Hyundai's Upcoming Micro-SUV Exter Images Leaked Ahead of Global Debut

The spy images of the production-spec Hyundai Exter micro SUV have surfaced online ahead of its imminent launch. The latest uncamouflaged images of the Hyundai Exter reveal its exterior design completely. As seen in the images below, the Hyundai Exter sports a sleek grille that is flanked by H-shaped LED DRLs that also work as turn indicators. The lower unit of the front bumper house the projector headlamps that are positioned in square pods.On the sides, the Exter gets squared wheel arches with thick cladding. The A and B pillars are blacked-out while the C-Pillar gets a dual-tone finish. We can also see the roof rails and stylish dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, the micro SUV gets wraparound taillights and a light bar that will connect the taillights, similar to the current Hyundai Venue. The Exter's tailgate is slightly upright. There's also a shark fin antenna and a small built-in spoiler positioned right above the rear glass.

The Exter will be based on the same platform that underpins the Hyundai Aura and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. The Exter will employ the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as the Venue, Grand i10 Nios and Aura. Hyundai might offer a 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit as well.  There are also rumours of an all-new EV variant joining the line-up in the future.

The Exter will sit alongside Hyundai's strong SUV portfolio, which includes the Venue, Venue N Line, Creta, Alcazar, Tucson, Kona Electric, and Ioniq 5. It will be positioned below the Venue in the company’s lineup.
